CYAP Receives Indiana Youth Institute Grant
CYAP Receives $150,000 to Sustain Youth Programs and Build Organizational Capacity
Carmel, Ind. – Indiana Youth Institute (IYI) has awarded Carmel Youth Assistance Program (CYAP) a grant totaling $150,000. The funding will help Carmel Youth Assistance Program strengthen programs serving young people in Carmel and build the organizational capacity needed to deepen its impact over the next several years.
IYI made the grants in connection with Strengthening Youth Programs in Indiana (SYPI), an initiative Lilly Endowment Inc. launched in 2023. The initiative seeks to help youth-serving organizations working throughout the state improve their abilities to promote the academic, physical, and social well-being of young people, ages five through 18.
With this support, Carmel Youth Assistance Program will expand its transportation initiative, Engine to Empowerment, and strengthen organizational sustainability through the addition of a dedicated development professional. These investments will increase access to critical resources for youth and families, enhance fundraising, and position the organization for sustained growth and increased impact.
“We are deeply grateful for this investment in the Carmel Youth Assistance Program and the young people and families we walk alongside every day,” said Stacey Pomeroy, Board President at CYAP. “This grant empowers us to meet urgent family needs while strengthening our foundation so we can support local youth for years to come”.
Carmel Youth Assistance Program is one of 168 youth-serving organizations awarded SYPI grants totaling more than $40 million. A full list of grant recipients is available here.
